We haven’t talked much here about the mass firings of teachers at Rhode Island’s Central Falls High School earlier this year. The firing became a cause celebre when President Obama and Education Secretary Arne Duncan voiced support for the move.
Over the weekend, the Central Falls superintendent and teachers’ union forged an agreement that allowed all teachers to reclaim their jobs, in exchange for some working conditions concessions. What does it all mean? A pessimistic assessment here, an optimistic one here.
